In Australia the Barossa Valley Vintage Festival is held to celebrate the grape harvest.

The festival includes wine-tastings, dinners, grape-picking championships, exhibitions of old skills such as barrel-making, choosing a Vintage Queen, and a procession.

Grapes are harvested from mid-Summer until about the end of April. More than half the crop is used for wine-making, while the rest is dried or eaten fresh.
